Notes from our Presence Walkabout Council Call 4/05/09

These notes are offered to the Presencce Walkabout collective and others who have contributed their support of the Tipi in many ways.

Council Members:  Glenna, Becky Winslow, Elizabeth Fadell, Ken Homer, Stephanie Nestlerode, Catherine Martell, Dave Willsey (opening only) and Paul Alexander (opening only)

Process:

We strung the beads around “what called you to be present in this listening circle today?”

Glenna gave a brief update on the evolution of the Tipi on the Ojo Land.  Catherine Martell added a bit about the logistics of the Tipi and confirmed it will be on the Ojo Land before the gathering the weekend of July 4.

Elizabeth then called the Four Directions and invited us into image ourselves stepping into council within the Medicine Circle up on the mesa on the Ojo Land.  Below are the descriptions of the directions which Elizabeth used and the responses to the questions that council members offered from their listening.

SOUTH – healer, Great Mother, heartbeat, singing that honors nurturing and sustenance, pay attention to heart, healing and love.

WEST – teaching spirits, water ocean, fluidity, grace to bring new wisdom, release old patterns and control, invite in new knowledge, endings, closing, releasing fear of death, teaching and new wisdom

NORTH – ancestor spirit, courage, leadership, show up and choose to take a stand, to be warrior, of law, set boundaries, Father Sky, winged creatures, earth, groundedness, manifestation

EAST – rising sun, visionary, dreams intuition, unique gifts to world, speaking of truth, seeing beyond d new beginnings, hope, creation, expression, clarity, elements of air, boundlessness, soaring

Responses to First Question:  What is the Essence of the Tipi (teepee) in both its intent and its manifested form?  (as both wave and particle).

SOUTH – creating space for heaving on earth, unity consciousness where we see we are all connected – ability to be interdependent and resourceful for and with one another – peaceful coexistence – create true and deep experience of peaceful coexistence so that it can be an anchor for the possibility and reality of peaceful coexistence in our daily lives.  Multidimensional portal for collective harmonizing – bringing whole being present in service to future generations – core energetic – holding course and intention as collective toe support harmony in world for future generations and the ancestors who sit with us.  Feel Grandmothers who hold wisdom.  Snake energy coiling around the center stones of the Medicine Circle – symbolic of commitment as collective to being in council and bringing forth new wisdom and ways of being in harmony into the world.

WEST – Tipi as portal.  When you step into the tipi you are instantaneously Everywhere.  Teaching comes through this portal for our times.  University of Unknown – holds paradox out of which comes wisdom and direct knowing of boundless dimensions.

NORTH – “This teepee is a portal, an entryway into an ancient and ongoing dialogue between the not manifest and the manifest. It is an invitation to stand on the Earth (Ancestors) and to open up a focal point just above us, to draw down the energy of Heaven (Descendants). To dance and turn inside a sacred circle open to the Heavens surrounded by love (Relations) and grounded in the Earth. To exist inside the upward and downward spirals of energy that through their swirling create a cone and vortex of harmony that connects and sustains "The People Who Walk Through Time".

A place of peace and nonviolence – protection – sanctuary- our role is to hold in that spirit and support ability to protect – space that can hold conflict and many different points of view and lift and transform them into new ways of being.  Place where conflict can be embodied and healed.  Warrior – the energy is strong and honorable and noble and wanting to be in service of Tipi so it can hold transformational energies.  Do not shy away from – bring forward.  We are maturing our capacity to hold much.

EAST – Portal of East as a place of manifestation.  Speaking truth into the world.  All we generate will go into the world through the East  gate.

Responses to Second Question:  Who am I in this and what is this for me?

SOUTH

Glenna – I am hospitality.  Place Holder.  Hearth Keeper of this Place where teachings come through.  What is in it for me is increasing my capacity for loving all people and creatures and learning different ways of community.

Stephanie – Looking at the whole.  My role is to ask:  Is it whole?  Balance of inspiration, growth, what we are learning.  How much peace are you willing to work for?  How much capacity are we building and is it whole?

WEST

Becky – Explorer – curiosity and willingness to hold sacred No Thing; maturing into innocence that embraces mystery and releases patterns of history wherever they bind.

NORTH

Catherine – interpreter, translator, seer, mediator of ancestors and Grandmother Earth.  One who serves as harmonizer.  For me – an indication of sacred marriage of Masculine and Feminine and commitment to deepening into the sacred dance of core aspect of my spiritual journey.  One who carries snake medicine – images of tipi ground cover – snake energy – welcoming all beings of earth into tipi without freaking out too many.  A deep honoring of the ground and presence of Earth container – presencing in council ON the Earth – structure supports dance of Heaven and Earth.

Elizabeth – activated warrior energy in me – commitment to showing up to create container and be peace worker for work on Land and in Tipi in service of larger Work.  Container that can hold – image of cauldron where opposites are wedded and transformed – Ruthless commitment to Peace.  Seeming opposites – true partners – many points coming together in center (like a starburst).  Be brave and courageous – Opportunity for my heart to be in this practice for self and for life.

EAST

Catherine – vision from East. Standing beautiful woman of power, holding a contain that is two vessels joined – pouring water out of it- nourishment for growth- container is coming together of multiple containers – providing one source of knowledge/wisdom/nourishment for the world.  She is pouring water over her head, her feet and into the center of the circle.
