In January '09 the Initial Invitation
I have been asked by two members of the Presence Walkabout Community, Catherine Martell and Ken Robinson, to send out a Sacred Request. In honor of their listening and the Sacred Request, I have been sensing into those kindred spirits within my circles to whom I feel called to send this e-mail. You are among those whose names come forward in my heart and consciousness. My sense is that you share a resonance with one or more of the following
- the Land here in New Mexico and specifically the Ojo land for which Dave and I are stewards in this lifetime
- the work of deep listening in support of the evolution of Conscious Collectives which is shared by so many of us, including the Presence Walkabout Community
- an honoring of the Land as a sacred partner in your own personal development and in your work with others
- a dedication to support Places on this Earth as sacred spaces for deep listening and council in service of all life
I am humbled by Catherine and Ken’s request and deeply grateful that I know you and can share this with you.
With many blessings,
Glenna
A Summary of the March '09 Update
The tipi is taking on form and is coming in for a landing, even earlier than we might have thought. For further detail about what is unfolding you can:
1) Read a round robin reflection of our February 8 call.
2) Read a brief summary below of what has unfolded since February 8th.
We decided to convene a gathering the last week of September, starting on the 27th and running throughout the week. This gathering will have various strands of collective braiding.
- There will be a strand that is a calling for the raising and blessing of the Tipi. There will be ceremony and a first circle of initiation to dedicate the place and the space of the tipi as a basket for holding collectives dedicated to serving the great hoop of life.
- There will be a strand that is the convening of a Presence Walkabout Alumni Council to strengthen the members of the community and listen as a collective being for the many forms of work we are called to now and how this circle is connected into many others across the globe.
- There may be other strands that we do not know of yet.
- You are invited to be a member of the group that will steward the weaving of the braids for September.
We have received enough funds through the generosity of a few members of our community to purchase the Tipi. Thank you so much Rose, John, Sarah B., Sarah A., Ken, Elizabeth, Ann and Stephanie for the financial energy you have contributed that has made it possible to take the next step.
A small group of us are gathering the weekend of July 4th to walk the land and listen for “right relationship” with the land and the spirits here regarding placement and construction of the Tipi. The story we tell about this initial “Landing of the Tipi” is that the Tipi’s physical presence will help to call forth the continued unfolding and strengthen our collective listening field here on the Ojo in support of the further unfolding of this vision. We will also be able to do an initial welcoming ceremony and perhaps even some painting on the canvas.
On April 5th there will be a council call around the Essence of the Tipi.
A Summary of the April 5th Council Call
Council Call Summary.
July 4th Welcoming of the Sacred Tipi
Over the 4th of July weekend the group that is becoming known as the Core Tipi Team gathered on The Ojo Land. The Sacred Tipi itself arrived on the land the previous Tuesday, October 30th, heralding the unfolding of a new phase in the life of The Ojo Land, Dave and myself.
While we do not know all that is emerging – surprise! We are confident there will be more ceremony here, more council, and more people who will gather over time to contribute to and be gifted by the Sacred Space that is the Tipi. We can already feel the coalescing of an energetic field which will be a resource for many gatherings, both face-to-face and non-locally across the globe.
We are excited, curious and mindful of our role as stewards of The Ojo Land and grateful for the group of committed individuals that has taken shape to help us with discerning and supporting this process. The July 4th weekend was a graceful interweaving of walking The Land to discern the Place for the Tipi and the images that will be painted upon it; blessing of the poles and canvas; and sitting in council together . Oh yes…and we ate very well too! :-)
For those of you who are following this story and are interested in learning more about what is unfolding, please contact me personally through e-mail. There is ample room for many and varied contributions – so please be in touch.
